As international companies operate across the globe, they are faced with various communication challenges. How do you avoid misunderstandings when communicating with people from a different cultural background? What is the best way to launch an advertising campaign in different countries? You will address such questions in the Bachelor’s programme in International Business Communication. By the end of this three year degree programme, you will also master one of the foreign languages of your choice (English, French, German or Spanish). You will improve your proficiency in practical language courses. Furthermore, you will learn about the countries in which your foreign language is spoken by working on projects that address common challenges in international business communication. For example, designing an advertising campaign in a foreign language or developing a marketing plan for a foreign start-up company.

opbouwThe bachelor's degree programme consists of a major and a minor. The major is the core of the programme. You also have the choice of different packages that form the minor. This minor revolves around a current social theme. In the three-year Bachelor's degree you will deepen and broaden your knowledge every year, so afterwards you will have developed an in-depth academic attitude and a critical view.
1e jaar During the first year of the English-taught Bachelor's programme in International Business Communication, you will take a range of courses that will introduce you to the three main areas of the programme: Language, Communication and Organisation; Intercultural Communication; and Academic and Research Skills.

3e jaar In the third year, theory and practice are combined and you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and skills to find solutions to social issues of topical relevance. This will be done as part of a minor. We offer a variety of minors with a societal theme, varying from gender and diversity to migration and big data. Choosing one of these themes will help you put focus in your programme, making it easier to set yourself apart from others when entering the labour market.

Babylon
SV Babylon is opgericht in 1989. De studievereniging is er voor alle studenten Communicatie- en Informatiewetenschappen die hun studentenleven willen verrijken op studie- en/of sociaal gebied. Daarnaast is de studievereniging er ook voor docenten Communicatie- en Informatiewetenschappen, Bouwmeesters (afgestudeerde studenten Communicatie- en Informatiewetenschappen die lid zijn van SV Babylon), en andere geïnteresseerden. Momenteel telt SV Babylon ruim 650 leden.SV Babylon probeert actief een gezond en positief studieklimaat voor studenten Communicatie- en Informatiewetenschappen te scheppen. Zij organiseert een groot scala aan activiteiten voor haar leden. Deze variëren van studiegerichte activiteiten, zoals excursies naar bedrijven, bedrijvendagen, ouderdagen en symposia tot gezelligheidsactiviteiten, zoals borrels, feesten en gezellige avonden uit.
